5 Things to do to Get Your House Ready to Sell

What are 5 easy things you can do to get your house ready to sell? Well, let me tell you!

  1. Declutter your house. You are selling your house, so now is a great time to take that stuff you never use to the Goodwill and get yourself a little tax write off. Having a house filled with too much stuff makes it hard for potential buyers to vision what their stuff would look like in your home. Trust me, you will be happy to have the space and you will be really glad to not move it to your new home!
  2. Clean baby, clean! Get those carpets cleaned, scrub down the kitchen appliance, and make sure that bathroom sparkles. First impressions are super important and everyone loves a clean house.
  3. Fresh paint! I know your child probably loved their hot pink and purple room, but overly bold colors are a big turn off to most people. Think neutral colors and earth tones. Colors that go with everything are always your best bet! Touch up the outside of the house. Make sure there is no peeling paint. Some lenders will not loan buyers the money until that peeling paint is taken care of so get ahead of the curve and start painting.
  4. Finish your handyman projects. Did you get about half done with that project and decide to watch football instead? Yeah, it happens to the best of us and gets put on the back burner forever. Now is the time to finish those little project up. Put that trim piece up, fix that hole in the wall, finish hanging that ceiling fan. Whatever the project is, get it done and get it done right!
  5. Get your landscaping looking good. Curb appeal can be so important. People driving by MY sign in your yard only get a quick look, so make sure it is a good one. Mow that yard, pull those weeds, trim those hedges and show everyone driving by how much you cared for your home.

It is a great time to start listing your house. If I can help in anyway, I would love to. Give me a call, shoot me a text, or message me on social media. I will come to you and give you the tools you need to get the most for your home and help you find your next one. :)
